I just returned from a week of travel to Dallas and Atlanta. What a wonderful time it was re-connecting with friends and meeting some new.

In Dallas, Marc Dingler (2007) asked me to assist him at the annual Green Beret Classic Golf Tournament and Gala where CITR offered a one pair scholarship as a silent auction item. This Classic one day event is an incredible fundraiser founded by Paul McDonald to assist our wounded Green Beret heroes as they transition back to civilian life. It was an emotional moving day for me. I was so grateful to be able to participate. Thanks Marc.

One very pleasant surprise was to meet Kari Henry, wife of Harold and mom of Brandon (2012). She quite openly explained to me how she felt about her men’s experience at CITR the summer of 2012. This is how she later summarized her comments.

 

 

“My husband and 17 year old son attended Christ in the Rockies a couple summers ago. They both had their individual relationship with Christ, but their relationship with each other was very shallow.

My son told me that he heard things from his father that he never knew his father felt. God blessed them both on this retreat and helped them better understand each other in a deep and lasting way. As a wife and mom, this in turn has blessed me to know that their relationship had become so much more. Thank you Christ in the Rockies!”

On Tuesday I met Bob Vomaske in Denver and travelled over to Atlanta for the remainder of the week. Our alumni partners in Atlanta did an outstanding job lining up six opportunities for myself and Bob to present Christ in the Rockies to dads in the Atlanta area.
