Matters of the Heart-Influence

Genesis 27:18-29

When you hear the phrase, “That really influenced me,” what does that mean? What is influence? How does it work? How does it relate to our subject at hand? Let’s think about this subject. Jesus spoke about influence. He once said, “You are the light of the world,” he also said, “You are the salt of the earth.” What did he mean? The truth is, most of us do not think of ourselves as people of influence. Rather we think of ourselves as barely measuring up to whatever standard we have pieced together in our heads. The good news is God’s vision for us through Christ is far greater. The challenge is to simply believe it. To embrace what God through Christ has already made me to be. We may discover we have more influence than we think.
