The first stage of a man’s journey is Ascent. This stage is all about becoming. During this stage, the concerns are these types of questions. Where will I go to school? What kind of job will I get? Who will I marry? How much money will I make? Underlying these questions is a natural longing to figure out who he is. The young man is attempting to create an identity.

Let’s continue our look at Jacob’s early life, through viewing the group 1 snapshots which we introduced in our last session. Through this effort we hope to come to a better understanding of what actually occurs during this stage, preparing the young man for what is to come.
