Separateness is expressed through our lives in various ways. A major contributor to this expression is how we have been imprinted especially during our formative years.
We have looked at Jacob’s struggle as his engagement with his “imprinted separateness,” the idea being, we as human beings would rather do anything than engage with this inner foe. Along with his struggle as seen in our story, we now examine the purpose and outcome of this night encounter. After doing so we will bring these three ideas together in order to help us understand what is occurring and hopefully give insight into our own journey.
