Genesis 32:31-32 “Real Change”

 

Does anyone really change? Earlier in life I would have resounded, “Well absolutely, by the power of the Holy Spirit, of course!” As years past and I got more honest I began to understand how difficult real and lasting change is. We mean well, but our self created constructs run so deep we can exist for years not even aware. Sure, we clean up our act a bit, but when we get honest we realize it’s the same stuff in a more refined wrapper. Now, at age 61 I’ve come full circle back to where I was years ago, “of course people can change!” However, at this stage I have a much deeper appreciation of what Jesus did and the power to change through and in Christ. He modeled it all for us and He is there to lead us or maybe better stated, “Catch us” when we become ready to be caught.
