Genesis 49:14-15, Jacob’s Blessings, Part 12

As we have now looked at five of the twelve blessings, we have discovered that some of what Jacob is sayings is relatively easy to correlate to what we know. On the other hand much of what he is saying is cloaked in symbolic language and therefore difficult to interpret meaning. In today’s session we call a brief time-out to ask the question, “What meaning is there in text’s like these, for people like us?” Let’s lake a brief look at this question with a view towards setting up some guidelines for understanding.
