Today we examine the phrase, “We beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten of the father.” For us, living 2000 plus years removed from this statement, we naturally and appropriately attach “the only begotten Son,” as referring to Jesus Christ. However, this phrase pre-dates the incarnation. Today we look at the historical meaning of this phrase and how John the author applies the phrase to The Word becoming flesh.
